Stockholm and Herning to Host 2025 IIHF WM
Main Events to Take Place in Sweden; Group Games and Quarters in Denmark
Division of Teams and Tournament Schedule Announced
Stockholm, Sweden and Herning, Denmark have been selected to host the 2025 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship (WM). The main events of the tournament, including the semi-finals and final, will be held in Stockholm, while Herning will host two group games and two quarter-finals.
A total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament, divided into two groups for the preliminary round. The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals, with the winners of those matches moving on to the semi-finals and final.
The schedule for the tournament has also been announced. The preliminary round will take place from May 9th to 19th, followed by the quarter-finals from May 20th to 22nd. The semi-finals will be held on May 24th, with the final scheduled for May 26th.
